Following the cultural initiatives of Espai Penedes BCN, we are glad to invite you to a very special wine pairing session this time: we will match Catalan wines with Catalan Art Nouveau.
Art Nouveau or “Modernismeâ€, as this art movement of late 19th – early 20th century is called in Catalan language, had Barcelona as one of its centers of development.
By the tasting of 5 wines from Penedès region and some excellent Catalan ham and cheese, we will get to know this Art Nouveau legacy. Without leaving our chairs, but letting our imagination flow, we will start an amazing trip. We will encounter fantastic shapes, stained glasses and colorful mosaics to discover the origins of this movement. Each artistic topic will be paired with a wine specially selected for the occasion.
We will explain the wine making process, its characteristics and we will reveal the relationship between the chosen wine and the art nouveau subject discussed. We will talk about decorative arts, architecture and the most representative work of this period. Beautiful buildings of unique beauty and witnesses of another time. Do not miss this game of sensations and harmonies.
Wine and Catalan Art Nouveau: A perfect match! Hope to see you there!
The wine selection that we propose shows the wonderful diversity that can be found at Penedes region.
